With this hot weather we had some very nice refreshments from Harrogate.

William Slingsby (1520-1606) undertook a prolonged tour of Europe accompanied by his wife, where he discovered the unique properties of natural spring water from the Tewit Well in Harrogate. Slingsby did things differently, thought differently and had a vision that was extraordinary or even a little odd; he epitomised 'the spirit of Harrogate'.

Now hundreds of years later Spirit of Harrogate Distillery have sought to look at things differently and to provide you with 'the Spirit of Harrogate' in a bottle.

The key ingredients of Slingsby Gin are hand grown local plants which are synonymous with the beautiful and restorative nature of Harrogate. These are complemented with the finest other ingredients that have been sourced from around the world, water drawn from the world famous Harrogate aquifer and pure single grain spirit. All are expertly brought together and are hand finished in North Yorkshire.

An initial burst of citrus from the grapefruit base gives way to juniper before a very light herbaceous sweetness (led by sweet cicely and a light green tea scented with jasmine blossom).
